About the event

Support Chehalem Valley BMX a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization 100% supported by sponsors, generous Lapathon donations and awesome volunteers.

Fundraiser Goal: Fund maintenance, track improvements and programs to maximize fun and community participation. Future Projects: New start gate and track upgrades.

Ways to Participate: Collect pledge donations (eligible for prize awards, need not be present to win) and/or attend Lapathon event. 

Arrive: 9am check-in (gate drops at 9:30)

Lap Duration: 1 hour see who can get the most laps!

Stay for Race After Event: Race Registration 11:30am

FAQ

Who can participate as a rider?

Anyone with a valid USA BMX license can participate as a rider at Lapathon. Race attire required: long sleeve, pant, closed toe shoe and helmet (full face recommended, gloves recommended).

How are prizes determined?

3 ways to win! More Info: Lapathon Prizes

  1. Prize(s) by total pledge amount collected = guaranteed to win! Plus, special prizes for TOP participants 
  2. Raffle prize(s) - 1 raffle ticket for every $20 in pledge donations
  3. Top Lap Award- Trophy for participant with most laps during event (3 age categories)

I can't attend or don't plan to ride at the event, can I still fundraise?

Yes! Prize eligibility does not require lap commitment. Pledge sheets due 8/15 for top prize eligibility.

How do the two types of pledges work, flat vs. per-lap?

Flat pledges are a simple one-time amount donation.

Per-lap pledges are a dollar amount promised "per-lap." This is calculated after event completion requiring follow-up collection (due by 8/31/24).

Can I send something to family and friends to request a pledge digitally? 

Definitely! Share the link to the located in the SHOP: Lapathon Donation, and it has a field to enter the rider's name. (Good to take note on your own pledge sheet too)

How many laps are typical?

Expect about 30 laps average, to a high of ~40 laps as a top rider (60 min lap time in this year's event).

What forms of donations are accepted?

Check, Cash and/or Online (QR code on pledge sheet)

Why are pledge sheet due before the event, on August 15th?

So we can give out prizes immediately on the date of the Lapathon, pledge sheet submission before the event ensures we can determine eligibility.  

How do I submit Pledge Sheets before event?

Pledge sheet submission is easy, either drop off at an a CV BMX event, or send a photo to  chehalemvalleybmx1514@gmail.com

How do we turn in cash and check donations?

Please turn in donations anytime at CV BMX event registration with associated pledge sheet(s), but no later than the morning of event at check-in. 

Are donations tax-deductible as a charitable donation? 

Yes, as permitted. Chehalem Valley BMX is nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Tax ID EIN 01-0944988

Can pledge sponsors get a receipt for tax-deduction purposes?

Yes! Cash & Check: A generic receipt is on each pledge packet, have them take a photo with their phone. Details with track email should they desire anything more formal are included. Online donations will receive an email confirmation of their donation amount (QR code on pledge sheet). 

Is there food at the Lapathon?

Morning Treats are available free for participants including: Sesame Donuts, Harvest Fresh Juice, water, and Starbucks Coffee.

Is RSVP required?

Nope, just mark your calendar and join the fun!
